Plastics Manufacturing

PLASTICS MANUFACTURING

Thermoplastics, Thermosets, PVC, PP, PET, ABS, Nylon, Acrylic, Acetal, Teflon

Here are some of the most common plastic manufacturing methods we work with:

Injection Molding

Shape-forming process in which molten plastic is injected into aluminum, ceramic, or steel molds (shaped like the end product) and squeezed under high pressure. Injection molding is employed mainly in the production of solid objects. Many everyday products are made this way.

Blow Molding

Process of forming hollow, one-piece articles (bottles, cans, jars) by expanding a piece of hot plastic against the internal surfaces of a heated two-piece mold with compressed air.

Vacuum Forming

A sheet of plastic is clamped in a frame and heated until it is stretchy. Then it is sucked into a mold. It is used to make different types of product packaging, casings, and also the insides of a refrigerator or bath.

Plastic Extrusion

A high volume manufacturing process in which raw plastic material is melted and formed into a continuous profile. Extrusion produces items such as pipe/tubing, weather stripping, window frames, adhesive tape, and wire insulation.

Compression Molding

Thermoset resin powder is put in a mold which is squeezed and heated until the plastic is cured. This is used for making ashtrays, cups and plates, and some electrical switches.
